Roger Federer playing tennis - a picture that we will not see too often, at least in the competitive arena. Specifically: only at the upcoming Laver Cup, which will start this Friday in London. /

Will Federer actually pick up the racket? It's not officially certain. Fitness coach Pierre Paganini said at the weekend that Federer would probably only decide at the last moment. A good sign in this respect: the Maestro has already trained with Stefanos Tsitsipas. And it worked quite well in this case. The question, of course: what does the knee allow?

Laver Cup: Djokovic and Murray already in London, what about Nadal?

Novak Djokovic has also arrived, who has already picked up the racket - and there was also a happy hello with teammate Federer. As with Andy Murray, also at the start for Team Europe, for the first time in the (still short) history of the Laver Cup. The reason: Murray has often been injured in recent years.

Who is missing? However, there was still nothing to be seen from Rafael Nadal. He had last played at the US Open and, after losing to Frances Tiafoe, said he had many things on his mind that would keep him busy. One big thing here for sure: the imminent birth of his first child, especially since his wife Xisca had to go to the hospital a few weeks ago.

It would be bitter, since the Federer fans are mainly speculating on a farewell double with Rafa. The "Fedal" pairing had only existed in 2017 so far. But the alternatives also sound acceptable: Federer/Djokovic, Federer/Murray - nobody would complain. The coming days will show what will happen.
