The 2022 edition of the Laver Cup should offer a formidable line-up. After Roger Federer would like to celebrate his comeback from September 23rd to 25th in the 02 Arena in London and this year's Australian and French Open winner Rafael Nadal has also confirmed his attendance, the indications are hardening that the mega Talent Carlos Alcaraz could support Team Europe in the entertaining team competition.

Team World aims for first win

But Team World has already included well-known players in the elite selection: Both the North Americans Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz and the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman are in team manager John McEnroe's squad. The men around the 63-year-old ex-world number one are looking for their first full success at the fifth edition of the Laver Cup.

Of the three professionals mentioned, Schwartzman is the only one who has already been involved in two events (2018, 2021), Fritz (2019) and Auger-Aliassime have only played once so far. Last year, Team World was only able to score a single point at home in Boston and ultimately lost quite clearly by 1:14. The closest result came at the 2019 event in Geneva, when Team Europe only narrowly prevailed with 13:11.
