Mouratoglou: Zverev does not win a Grand Slam title with his style

Tennis star coach Patrick Mouratoglou does not trust the German top player Alexander Zverev (22) to win a Grand Slam triumph at the moment. "You do not win a Grand Slam title with its kind of tennis," said the Frenchman, who among other things, the 23-time Major winner Serena Williams, the 15-year-old prodigy Cori Gauff and ATP Champion Stefanos Tsitsipas looks after, in an interview with mirrors online.

The world ranking seventh Zverev was indeed "climbed fast in the ranking thanks to its qualities," said Mouratoglou: "But during this time, he has not developed any other things necessary to win one of the four major tournaments, he eventually becomes the limit to reach."

Born in Hamburg, Zverev had triumphed at the ATP Finals of the eight best of the season last year and celebrated his biggest success so far, but the best results for the four Grand Slam tournaments are two quarter-finals in Paris. "He has a great base, he moves incredibly well, he's very solid, but that's not enough," Mouratoglou said.

"Must evolve"

Zverev reminds him of three-time Major winner Andy Murray. This "was a fantastic player for a long time, but not a Grand Slam winner," Mouratoglou said: "Then he changed a few things in his game and became a winner, I think Sasha can do that, too, but he needs to evolve."

However, Mouratoglou narrowed down, it would have the young players in an era with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic also hard. "It's incredibly difficult to get to the top right now, and the three biggest players in tennis history are still active," he said.
