Dominic Thiem, currently third in the world rankings, started the 2020 season brilliantly after moving into the final of the Australian Open after a rather mixed ATP Cup (victory against Diego Schwartzman, defeats against Borna Coric and Hubert Hurkacz). However, due to the corona pandemic, the title was no longer defended in Indian Wells.
Lucas Miedler is in position 266 in the current ATP world ranking. The 23-year-old Tullner qualified for the main field of the Generali Open in Kitzbühel last year and was at the ATP Challenger tournaments in Columbus, San Luis Potosi and Puerto Vallarta each in the quarterfinals.
