The world ranking second opened with a 6: 4 and 6: 4 against Ashleigh Barty. Kerber remains unbeaten at the Hopman Cup 2019. The German number one had previously won against Alizé Cornet and Garbine Muguruza.
Now Alexander Zverev plays against Matthew Ebden. Zverev has also won his two individual matches against David Ferrer and Lucas Pouille. The native of Hamburg has never played against Ebden, number 46 in the current ATP world rankings.
