No Olympia 2021 for Dominic Thiem. On the same day that the 27-year-old's collaboration with the KOSMOS Group was announced by Gerard Piqué, Austria's number one announced that it would not start in Tokyo. This means that Thiem's Olympic premiere will be postponed to 2024. Then the games will take place in Paris - and that means for the tennis cracks: in the Stade Roland Garros.

The 2021 season has so far not gone as desired, Thiem said on Instagram. But he's working his way up to his top form step by step - and of course he wants to try to defend his US Open title. In the coming week, however, the appearance at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Mallorca is on grass.

Thiem's cancellation for the Olympics came just a few hours after Rafael Nadal's. The Spaniard also withdrew from the tournament in Wimbledon. Of course, Dominic Thiem wants to tackle that. What comes next is open or not yet communicated by the Thiem team. Options, for example, would be starts in Hamburg and / or Ktzbühel.
