Olympia: Djokovic in action on the first day, Zverev has to wait - at least individually

Novak Djokovic wants to take the first step towards an Olympic gold medal on Saturday: The world number one will face Hugo Dellien in the fourth match of the day on Center Court. In front of the Serb, the matches between Naomi Osaka and Saisai Zheng, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik as well as Barbora Krejcikova and Zarina Diyas will take place from 4:00 a.m.CET.

The eyes of the German tennis fans should be on Court 1 from 4:00 a.m. onwards: There Mona Barthel claims the world number one Iga Swiatek. Afterwards, Lorenzo Sonego and Taro Daniel as well as Belinda Bencic and Jessica Pegula will do the honors on the second largest square of the facility. The program is rounded off by Pablo Carreno Busta and Tennys Sandgren.

Struff and Friedsam play twice

From a black-red-gold perspective, it will also be exciting on Court 6: On this, Jan-Lennard Struff will meet Thiago Monteiro in the second match of the day, in the fourth and last game the Warsteiner will then be in the same place at the side of Open Alexander Zverev. The two face the Poles Hubert Hurkacz and Lukasz Kubot. Zverev will not play his first game in the singles against Yen-Hsun Lu until the second day of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kevin Krawietz / Tim Pütz will also play against Facundo Bagnis / Diego Schwartzman on Saturday. Anna-Lena Friedsam will be in action twice: First, the German duel in the singles with Heather Watson, then she meets Elena Vesnina / Veronika Kudermetova together with Laura Siegemund. The Austrian doubles Oliver Marach / Philipp Oswald will only make their debut on Sunday.
