Alexander Zverev is still fighting for a medal individually, Jan-Lennard Struff had to bury his hopes against Novak Djokovic on Monday. In doubles, however, Struff and Zverev are still fully involved - and meet Jeremy Chardy and Gael Monfils in the round of 16.
At the start, Struff and Zverev had convinced 6: 2, 7: 6 (5) against Hubert Hurkacz and Lukaz Kubot (Poland), who were in fifth place, Chardy and Monfils won against Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev (Kazakhstan) in an ultra-tight match with 6: 7 (4), 7: 6 (3) and [10: 8].

The second round match between Jan-Lennard Struff and Alexander Zverev against Jeremy Chardy and Gael Monfils is scheduled as the third match after 4 a.m. CEST, before that Aslan Karatsev and Jeremy Chardy as well as Ugo Humbert and Miomir Kecmanovic duel individually.
