A few weeks ago Stefanos Tsitsipas had no chance at the third Grand Slam tournament of the year in Wimbledon against Frances Tiafoe, but the Greek turned the tables in the second round of the Olympic Games in Tokyo: The fifth in the world ranked only needed 73 minutes, to fix the 6: 3 and 6: 4 success against the American.
In the first round, Tsitsipas was enough to break an early 2-0, which he was then able to confidently transport to win the set. A similar picture emerged in the second section, in which the French Open finalist took the 3-2 serve from his opponent and finally turned onto the winning road. Tsitsipas himself only allowed one breakball in the entire match.
The 22-year-old will now face Ugo Humbert or Miomir Kecmanovic in the round of 16. Unlike the one between Tsitsipas and Tiafoe, which took place on the covered center court, the match between the two could fall victim to the adverse conditions on Tuesday.
