"We were hoping for more, but the results did not fit at all in the last two months and we did not beat a single top doubles match," Marach told Kleine Zeitung . Personally, the two are still on the same wavelength. "We still get along great and will also play together at the ATP Cup, the Davis Cup and the Olympics in Tokyo."

However, both Marach and Melzer have already found a partner for the upcoming season. The former plays with the South African Raven Klaasen, who will part with Michael Venus (New Zealand) after the ATP finals in November.

"He is an absolute top man and a permanent guest at the ATP Finals, Raven is very fast on the net - I need someone like that at my side and I can play with him on the backhand side", Marach said about his future partner.

After a short interlude with Nicholas Mahut, Melzer tries again with a Frenchman: Edouard Roger-Vasselin will start with the double doubles Grand Slam winner in the future.

Marach / Melzer formed a double after the French Open, after Marachs ex-partner Mate Pavic moved in the season to Bruno Soares. In Hamburg they celebrated a tournament victory, at the clay court tournament of Umag they reached the final. At the US Open, they penetrated into the quarterfinals, at the Masters they succeeded but hardly a trick.
