World class tennis is guaranteed again this year in Stuttgart

The participation of seven top 10 stars, led by Ashleigh Barty, the current number 1, guarantees absolute world class tennis again. The only downer in the great anticipation for the first serve is that this time it has to be played without an audience. It's tough for the fans, but also for the players, who have to do without the great atmosphere in the hall and the fantastic support from the spectators. But the tournament officials don't want to leave the fans out in the rain. On the contrary: They made great efforts to create a multimedia world of tennis experience for them, with expanded live broadcasts and extensive interactive offers on the tournament's social media channels.

"Advantage 911 - The Porsche Tennis Talk" live from the Porsche Museum

The Porsche Museum is becoming a TV studio: a new streaming format is celebrating its premiere on April 13th to prepare for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. “Advantage 911 - The Porsche Tennis Talk” will be broadcast live from 10.30 am to 11.15 am on Porsche newsTV at newstv.porsche.com and on the tournament's social media platforms. Guests are the two-time Stuttgart winner Angelique Kerber (photo), Head of Porsche Communications Dr. Sebastian Rudolph and tournament director Markus Günthardt were there. Four days before the first serve at the world-class Stuttgart event in the Porsche Arena, they talk about the importance of the traditional tournament for Porsche as an organizer and the challenge of organizing an international sporting event such as the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in these difficult times. Further topics are the effects of the pandemic on the tennis tour and especially on the players. Angelique Kerber can certainly contribute a lot of interesting insights.

"From the second round we have matches that could be Grand Slam finals"

As a Swiss, tournament director Markus Günthardt feels an inherent obligation to be neutral. When asked which player he is looking forward to the most at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, he elegantly avoids the question of which player he believes: “I don't have a favorite player, but am thrilled by what a strong field we can bring up year after year. “Only if you drill a little further will it eventually come out with two names: Ashleigh Barty and Sofia Kenin (photo). The Australian, winner of the “Porsche Race to Shenzhen” 2019 and current number 1 in the world, is also playing in the Porsche Arena for the first time, as is the American, who won the 2020 Australian Open as a climber of the year. They are among the top stars in an exclusive field that, from Markus Günthardt's point of view, guarantees absolute world-class tennis: "With this line-up, we have matches from the second round that could be Grand Slam finals."

Live on TV and the Internet - fans never miss a rally

Even if the grandstands of the Porsche Arena have to remain empty this time, the fans are still very close and do not have to miss out on a rally. In Germany this year, for the first time, you can follow every single match from qualification in a freely accessible live stream on the tournament website at www.porsche-tennis.com. Wolfgang Nadvornik, known as a commentator at Eurosport, will be the exclusive commentator on most of the games and will also greet interesting and competent conversation partners at the microphone, such as tournament director Markus Günthardt or the Porsche brand ambassador Julia Görges. The most important matches are also broadcast live by the long-standing TV partners of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Germany, i.e. by SWR, Eurosport and the streaming platform DAZN. There will be a daily summary from Wednesday on the news channel n-tv.

This is also new at the 44th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: thanks to the expanded interactive offers, fans can experience world-class tennis from completely new, unfamiliar perspectives for the first time. With the live broadcasts on www.porsche-tennis.com you have the option of choosing the camera position yourself and thus being your own TV director. In this way you can follow the matches from the point of view of the chair referee (umpire cam), from a bird's eye view from the hall roof (dome cam / photo Andrea Petkovic by Marijan Murat) or with the camera that films the players from the network (net cam) . The backstage cam provides exciting insights into the warm-up area of the players, which the spectators normally cannot see. The live streams are enriched with current live data. As a fan, you can hardly be much closer to the action in the Porsche Arena.

A Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo for the winner

There are many reasons for the best tennis players in the world to come to Stuttgart for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. They always have one thing in mind during the tournament week - the winning car. This year it will be powered purely electrically for the first time. The main prize of the winner is a Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo in the exciting color mambagreen metallic. The first derivative of the all-electric Taycan recently celebrated its world premiere and is a real all-rounder among electric sports cars. With this model version, Porsche is consistently continuing its path towards sustainable mobility. The Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 250 km / h, the range (WLTP) 388 to 419 kilometers.
