Cori Gauff will also open in Stuttgart

Coco Gauff is currently number 6 in the world rankings. But the experts agree that the career path of the only 18-year-old American will lead even further up. Last year she reached the finals in singles and doubles at the French Open in Paris. Not least because she reached the quarterfinals of the US Open, she qualified for the WTA Finals with the eight most successful players of the year. And she started the new season with a win in Auckland, the third singles title of her career.

She has fond memories of the 2022 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: She was in the doubles final with Shuai Zhang in the Porsche Arena. In contrast to other top players, who mainly concentrate on their singles career, Coco Gauff likes to play doubles. With success: Together with Jessica Pegula, she won the doubles titles in Doha, Toronto and San Diego last year and again in Doha last week. As one of the youngest players ever, she managed the feat of being among the top 5 in the world rankings in singles and doubles at the same time.

“I always enjoy coming to Stuttgart. I really like the fast indoor clay court and the tournament is something special on the WTA Tour," says Coco Gauff. "The spectators create a great atmosphere and support all the players."

Markus Günthardt is looking forward to Gauff and Raducanu

Emma Raducanu made tennis history in 2021. At the US Open in New York, the Porsche brand ambassador was the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam tournament. At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix last year, she had a successful premiere on clay and made it through to the quarter-finals with strong performances. There she had to give way to the later tournament winner Iga Swiatek in a hard-fought match. Nevertheless, she enjoyed the traditional tournament in the Porsche Arena to the fullest and is looking forward to returning to Stuttgart: “The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is one of the best tournaments on the calendar. Center Court in the Porsche Arena is great. I'm also looking forward to a trip or two in a Porsche. I would like to experience more of the brand, for example on a factory tour.”

“We are delighted with the commitments from Coco and Emma. These are two players with great prospects and an enrichment for our event,” said tournament director Markus Günthardt. "Coco was in the doubles final last year, Emma is a Grand Slam winner. In any case, both have the potential to fight for the individual title despite the strong competition this year.”

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo as the winning vehicle

The winner of the 46th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will receive a Neptune blue Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo. A grand prize that electrifies: The practical all-rounder among electric sports cars impresses with superior performance and a long range. Since the first Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, held in 1978, the winner has been able to take home a Porsche sports car. A tradition that goes down well with the players. Once described by Angelique Kerber as "the most beautiful winner's trophy on the WTA Tour", the main prize is enthroned on a pedestal on Center Court in a clearly visible place throughout the tournament week. So the players keep an eye on him in every match. More motivation is not possible.
