Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Stuttgart: Two players from the Porsche Talent Team in the qualifying final
The 45th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix started on Saturday with strong performances by the players from the Porsche Talent Team. Nastasja Schunk and Eva Lys kept their chance of a place in the main field of the traditional Stuttgart tournament with wins in the opening qualification.

In the first match of the day on Court 1, Nastasja Schunk set an exclamation mark: In a close game, she won 4: 6, 6: 4, 6: 1 against Australian Maddison Inglis. She had just returned from Kazakhstan, where she supported Porsche Team Germany as a training partner in the Billie Jean King Cup. On Sunday she will meet Elina Avanesyan in the second round, who defeated Federica Di Sarra (Italy) 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Eva Lys, the reigning German champion from TC Tübingen, also started with a win. Against the Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, however, she had to go the full distance despite clearly winning the first set. In the end she won the game 6:1, 3:6, 6:4 and is thus also in the second qualifying round. There she meets Kathinka von Deichmann. The Liechtensteiner won 7:6(3), 6:1 against Panna Udvardy (Hungary).
Korpatsch continues, Guth fails
While Tamara Korpatsch made it through to the qualifying final with a 6:4, 6:3 win against Mandy Minella (Luxembourg), Mara Guth didn't have her best day. The Porsche Talent Team player was beaten by Storm Sanders (Australia) 3:6, 2:6.
The Swiss Stefanie Vögele and the French Chloe Paquet also reached the final of the qualification. On Sunday from 11 a.m. it will be about the last four free places in the main draw. The draw for the main round matches starting on Monday will take place on Court 2 at 1 p.m. The Czech Petra Kvitova, the 2019 Stuttgart winner, will be there as a lucky fairy.
