A week before the official registration deadline, the Grand Slam winner Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic), Maria Sakkari (Greece) and Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) have also confirmed their participation in the 45th edition of the traditional Stuttgart tournament. This means that six players from the top 10 in the world rankings will be playing in the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart from April 16th to 24th.

Barbora Krejcikova is at the top of the preliminary seeding list. At the French Open 2021 she not only won in singles but also in doubles. The left-hander is currently number 2 in the world. Maria Sakkari (No. 6) crowned her successful year 2021, in which she reached the semifinals of both the French Open and the US Open, with qualification for the WTA Finals - and also reached the semi-finals there. This makes her the first Greek woman to rank in the top 10 in the world. Ons Jabeur (No. 10) was the first Arab player to do the same. In 2021 she won the WTA tournament in Birmingham and was in the finals in Charleston and Chicago.

The top 10 players Anett Kontaveit (Estonia/No. 5), Paula Badosa (Spain/No. 7) and Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic/No. 8) had already confirmed for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Also present is Porsche Brand Ambassador Angelique Kerber (No. 16), Germany's best tennis player, who was celebrated as the winner in the Porsche Arena in 2015 and 2016. The top prize for the best player is a Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo.
