Good news for all Rafael Nadal fans: The 20-time Grand Slam winner returned to the tennis court before the turn of the year after surviving the corona infection. This was shown by pictures and videos on social networks.

This increases the chances that Nadal will attack in the Australian tennis summer. The Spaniard announced on December 20 that he had been infected with the corona virus despite being vaccinated. According to his own statements, Nadal experienced "some uncomfortable moments" after his positive test.

Nadal is now likely to have survived the health problems, and reports indicate that he will be making his way to Australia on Thursday. The 35-year-old is currently on the registration list for both the ATP 250 event in Melbourne and the Australian Open. The preparation tournament in Melbourne starts on January 4th.

For Nadal, it would be the first official tournament since the ATP 500 event in Washington in early August. In December, the current world number six made his comeback after his foot injury at an exhibition in Abu Dhabi. In the United Arab Emirates, Nadal lost two times against Andy Murray and Denis Shapovalov.
