"Triple burden does not matter, this is the Olympics," said the sixth in the world rankings from Hamburg to the Bild newspaper. In addition to starting in singles, the 24-year-old also wants to attack mixed with Angelique Kerber and doubles.

At the Masters in Madrid last week, Zverev not only won the single title, he also played his way into the double semifinals alongside Tim Pütz. With the Frankfurt, Zverev could also imagine a start in Tokyo. "That would be particularly interesting with Tim for the Olympics," said the US Open finalist: "We have already discussed with Kevin Krawietz, Tim and Jan-Lennard Struff who is playing with whom. We'll probably get two teams in."

Despite concerns from many sides, Zverev is currently expecting the summer games to be held. "I assume. But I am not a politician," he said: "If the Olympics take place, I will also play, unless I have to be quarantined for four weeks beforehand and not be allowed out of the room."
