"I'm very satisfied. Today was definitely my hardest match in the final. I hope that in two weeks I can play in the intermediate round here in Großhesselohe or in Oberhaching, ”said the new champion after his success on the banks of the Isar.

Hanfmann had already been unbeaten in the three preliminary round matches and was able to underpin his strong impression in Großhesselohe in the final. There was also a prize money of 5,000 euros.

Bachinger has to give up injured

The winners of the first two matches of the day had previously been determined by task. In the game for seventh place, Matthias Bachinger had to leave youngster Milan Welte due to an injury to the patella tendon at 2-5 in the first set.

"The injury got worse after the first two encounters, so it made no sense for me to play through the match," said Bachinger in the subsequent press conference under the white-blue sky.

Overall, number 268 in the ATP world rankings was not entirely satisfied with the last few days in Großhesselohe, which also has to do with the fact that no spectators are still allowed at events in Bavaria. "Everything looked a little bleak," said Bachinger.

“In tennis emotions are part of it and here you could feel it less. You play the matches down and without ball kids the whole thing goes on. Nevertheless, the organizers made the best of it under these conditions. Maybe another mode, like the next gen finals, would have offered a little more action. However, it is generally a difficult situation and afterwards you are always smarter. "

Gojowczyk and Rehberg win placement games

Bachinger's teammate with Bundesliga club TC Großhesselohe Peter Gojowczyk subsequently benefited from Simon's task in the match for fifth place against Tobias Simon due to an inflammation of the periosteum.

In the game for third place, the longest duel of the day at the same time, the reigning German U16 champion Max Rehberg beat Roland Garros double champion Kevin Krawietz with 7: 5, 4: 6, 7: 6 (4) after over two hours by.

Before the DTB-German-Pro-Series returns to Großhesselohe with the intermediate round, the president of the club drew a positive conclusion of the start in Pullach. “We were very happy to get a part of this tournament series and we are very satisfied with the way the past four days have gone. I think we were able to beat the bad weather right at the start. We got a good picture of tennis in general and TC Großhesselohe in particular, ”said Roland Benedikt.
