Anyone who has won 15 Grand Slam titles and well over $ 100 million in prize money does not have to worry about an alternative career. In early years it was not so clear for Novak Djokovic that he would one day rule the tennis world. On the part of the family, it was more skiing that was recommended to little Novak.

Although he wanted to play tennis since he was four or five years old, Djokovic explained in an interview with the vlogger Jay Shetty, but it was not easy. Especially since the family had to turn to a field that was unknown to them.

Holistic approach by Jelena Gencic

The decisive factor for his development was the encounter with Jelena Gencic, who recognized Novak Djokovic's talent early on. "When such an experienced and clever person says something like that, parents should support their son," said Nole. He was in love with tennis from the start. Gencic had expanded this affinity - but not unilaterally. "She advised me to take a holistic approach, to think about my grades at school, to think about the music that I listen to as well as about my motivation and focus."

After the Australian Open, he showed that Nole still likes to ski on these days in social networks.
