Our testers put the latest ASICS models through their paces

Our readers tested three different models from ASICS: the Solution Speed FF 2 Clay, the Court FF Novak Clay LE and the Gel-Resolution 8 Clay.

ASICS Gel-Resolution 8 Clay

Our tester Andreas had the ASICS Gel-Resolution 8 Clay on his feet for ten training days in October. Even at first glance, the Lower Austrian was impressed by the good workmanship of the shoe, but when it comes to wearing comfort, Court FF - his current shoes (also from ASCIS) - are just ahead of the game. This model then offers a very good feeling on the foot, and our tester praised the stability in particular. There are only compromises in terms of weight, which is a bit high for Andreas' taste.

In addition to the stability, Andreas particularly emphasized the grip and the cushioning as special assets of the Gel-Resolution 8 Clay. "The Asics Gel-Resolution 8 is a successful mix of stability, comfort, cushioning and durability and for me the optimal shoe for players who prefer a fast game. The shoe shows its strengths especially when changing direction," says our tester. Overall, Andreas gives this shoe - due to smaller deductions in design, weight, comfort and ventilation - 3.8 out of 5 possible stars.

The Court FF Novak LE was put under the microscope by reader Jonas and our editor. The shoe - in red and white - was able to completely convince both testers at first glance. In addition to the successful design with beautiful accents in the inner shoe, Jonas was particularly impressed by the material chosen for the Court FF Novak LE.Our editor and Jonas also rated the feeling on the foot similarly, stability and wearing comfort leave nothing to be desired, but there are drawbacks for that quite high weight. You can definitely feel this, but it is not unbearable, emphasizes Jonas.

Our two testers are convinced that both stability and wearing comfort only show their full potential on the pitch. "Regardless of whether it is long sliding in the sand or short, quick page changes: the shoe always remains stable and you always have a firm hold," explained Jonas. Our editor - a newcomer to ASICS - was impressed by the versatility of the shoe: "In the game, I always felt a pleasant, subtle cushioning and comfort, without missing the necessary acceleration when changing direction or sprinting to the network." According to the two testers, you only have to make small compromises in terms of cushioning ("not outstandingly good", judged Jonas) and ventilation ("the plastic reinforcement on the outer front side means that this is only possible to a limited extent," our editor noted).

However, these minor criticisms do not change the extremely positive testimony that the two testers gave to the ASICS Court FF Novak LE. For both Jonas and our editor, it is the best shoe they have ever used. Jonas would especially recommend the shoe to those players "who are looking for a stable, long-lasting shoe with good grip." Our editor speaks of an "excellent all-round package", which he had to a certain extent assumed due to the high price. "With this shoe, ASICS has created a model that fulfills all areas - from cushioning and comfort to stability - par excellence without offering any major points of criticism," concluded our editor. Jonas gave the Court FF Novak LE 4.47 out of 5 possible stars, our editor 4.7.

ASICS Solution Speed FF2 Clay

Ines, our tester in the group, used the Solution Speed FF 2 Clay. At first glance, she was primarily able to address the design and workmanship of the shoe; she only had to make minor compromises with the material. The FF 2 Clay Ines was also completely convincing on the foot, due to the low weight you hardly notice the shoe on the foot during play, and the padding of the model as well as the special eyelets for the laces are well done. This positive impression was also confirmed for Ines in the game, stability was always given in the rallies: "The shoe was stable even with fast sprints and turns," emphasized our tester.

Ines also found the grip particularly successful. Unlike previous models, it didn't even slip away with this model. All in all, for Ines, the overall package - of a successful look and exceptional wearing comfort and stability - makes the Solution Speed FF 2 Clay a shoe that she can definitely recommend: "It gives you the necessary support during quick turns and quick sprints. Also the grip is great. I always had a good feeling on the pitch and would definitely recommend the shoe to others. " In total, Ines awarded the women's model from ASICS 4.73 out of 5 possible stars.
