Preparation is everything. So it is not surprising that the Mubadala World Tennis Championships have a strong field of participants year after year. Recent winners include Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer has already made it to Abu Dhabi.

After the corona-related failure last year, the highly decorated preparatory tournament will celebrate its comeback this year. As announced on Tuesday, Abu Dhabi will be played from December 16-18. A men's tournament with six participants and a women's individual are planned.

"Since its inception, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship has shown that it is incredibly popular with the people of Abu Dhabi and around the world, so it is a very special moment for us to be able to announce the return in the presence of fans." said John Lickrish, CEO of Flash Entertainment.

Exactly how many spectators will be admitted is currently just as open as the question of which players will start in Abu Dhabi.
