The allegations are directed against two players who are said to have been involved in several suspicious games in the so-called International Premier League (IPL). Corresponding lists of betting providers are available to ZDF.
The former Davis Cup player Andre Begemann founded the IPL to offer the players a replacement during the Corona break. Neither he nor the allegedly affected players commented on the allegations at the request of ZDF.
Accusations of manipulation come up again and again in tennis, the Tennis Intergrity Unit (TIU) is responsible for this. Most recently, in December, she announced a twelve-year ban on Slovak Dagmara Baskova, who was once number 1117 in the world rankings. According to its own information, the TIU imposed penalties against 20 professionals last year.
Former top 100 players were also at the start of the IPL, which was played over five weeks with prize money of 150,000 euros. The motto of the series was: "By players for players."
