Chris Evert against Martina Navratilova - that was the duel that shaped the tennis world in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Until Stefanie Graf turned the existing order upside down. Nevertheless, Evert's record is impressive: 18 individual titles in the majors were at the end of her magnificent career. And, of course, a place in the Tennis Hall of Fame.

After her career, Chris Evert made a name for herself as an expert on US TV, she still does this for ESPN today. It has now also been announced on his website that Evert has cancer. The US icon later confirmed this on Twitter. Evert's sister Jeanne had died of this disease a few years ago.

She is glad that the cancer was detected at an early stage, says Evert. She will receive further treatments, but will also be available from time to time during the Australian Open with her expertise for ESPN.
