US Open qualification: Noha Akugue and Niemeier out, Lys clearly on

The German players Jule Niemeier and Noma Noha Akugue each missed two sets in the first round of the US Open qualifiers. Eva Lys, on the other hand, has reached the second round with a clear two-set victory over Coco Vandeweghe .
