What could tennis look like after the corona break?

Currently, all sports facilities in Germany and Austria are closed due to the corona crisis and thus also tennis courts. The British Tennis Association has a few ideas about how things could go in the summer after the outdoor courts have been opened.

Because tennis actually fulfills all the requirements in sport when it comes to the corona rules - at least if you adapt a few things.

As far as the "social distance" is concerned, there is a 2-meter distance in tennis, in doubt if you concentrate on the individual. In addition, a buffer can be built in for the next few hours so that one player can leave the court (or facility) before the next players come. /

In addition, one should refrain from changing sides and keep a distance even during a break. In contrast to football, physical contact in tennis is not available anyway; You can also do without a handshake or high fives.

What about hygiene?

Regarding hygiene in training, you could think about the following points: wash your hands well before the match and clean rackets as well as water bottles and the like. As for tennis balls, new balls should be unpacked. Here everyone can mark their own balls to make sure that they are the only one who touches them with their hands. It would also be possible to "pick up" the balls only with the racket or foot and racket. In addition, one should refrain from touching the face.

Attention: These are currently only thoughts as to how things could look in Germany and Austria in the future. The tennis courts are currently closed, the individual national associations provide information and regulations on their websites.
