Zverev is number six in the third major of the year, Vesely has played through the qualification in the tableau. For Philipp Kohlschreiber, the draw with Novak Djokovic brought the most difficult draw: as in 2015, round one goes against the industry leader. In addition to Kohlschreiber, Peter Gjowoczyk, with Roberto Bautista-Agut, got the most unpleasant lot from a German perspective.
Defending champion Novak Djokovic starts against Philipp Kohlschreiber. Roger Federer, placed second thanks to the special rating system at Wimbledon, faces Lloyd Harris. And could still face Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals. Which has led the entire castling, at least in these areas of the seed list, to absurdity. Nadal's first opponent will be Yuichi Sugita. In lap two Nick Kyrgios could be waiting for the Spaniard.
Dominic Thiem also expects an extremely difficult task with Sam Querrey. Stefanos Tsitsipas has Thomas Fabbiano in front of his chest and would meet Djokovic in the last eight.
