Angelique Kerber can also imagine ghost games in tennis as a result of the corona crisis. "Tennis matches without an audience are anything but ideal, but as a transition to normality, scenarios that otherwise seem absurd must be discussed," said the three-time Grand Slam winner of Sport Bild. Due to the pandemic, the tennis tour is currently interrupted until at least July 13th.

Kerber is currently keeping fit in her tennis academy in Puszczykowo, Poland. Since her trainer Dieter Kindlmann cannot be on site due to the nationwide entry ban, normal tennis training is not possible. After her knockout round at the Australian Open in January, the 32-year-old was no longer able to train as usual due to a thigh injury.

"As with many others, of course the current situation has also changed my daily routine," said Kerber: "Training on the tennis court is of course not possible for known reasons. However, given the long time without tournaments, this is currently rather secondary. It it's more about maintaining a certain level of fitness. "
