Emma Raducanu on Sunday in Linz

It is one of those wondrous stories that probably only life writes: She is 18 years young, fought her way through the qualification at the US Open and left New York as a new star in the tennis sky: Emma Raducanu! The adorable Brit took the hearts of tennis fans by storm at the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. Emma has been in Linz since Saturday afternoon. Will she trigger a “radu mania” here at the “Upper Austria Ladies Linz 2021” like at home in Great Britain?

On Sunday afternoon, a very cheerful Emma Raducanu answered questions from the journalists. The top seed clearly feels at home here at the Linz WTA tournament and said: "I'm very happy to be here. I've been to Austria before, but skiing when I was around seven years old. Unfortunately, I don't go now more skiing because the risk of injury is too great. But I like it here a lot! "

She did not have certain expectations this week of the tournament because she did not want to put herself under pressure, said the 18-year-old. "I don't feel like I'm top seed and I don't think about it either. My goal is to just have fun this week and enjoy the tournament at the end of the season." Incidentally, the day after the final, the Briton is celebrating her 19th birthday, maybe she'll make herself a present with the triumph in Linz !?
