Only very few expected this at Iga Swiatek's home tournament: with the elimination of the big tournament favorite in the quarter-finals. However, Caroline Garcia is considered an extremely dangerous opponent, after all she was number five in the 250 event in Warsaw. In the end, the French won 6: 1, 1: 6 and 6: 4 and will play against Jasmine Paolini from Italy in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Kateryna Kozlova from Ukraine and Ana Bogdan from Romania will compete in the second semi-final.
