There will be a personnel rally for the twelfth edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. After the youngest Diriyah Tennis Cup champion Daniil Medvedev (ATP 5) and Gael Monfils (ATP 10) announced their retirement from the Arabian Gulf tournament due to an injury, two replacement candidates had to be found. These are now available with Karen Khachanov (ATP 17) and Andrey Rublev (ATP 23). The Russian duo will take part in the tournament at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Center, Zayed Sports City. /

In the first round starting next Thursday, Rublev will meet reigning world champion Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 6) in the exhibition. Kachanov, meanwhile, is dealing with the Korean Hyeon Chung (ATP 128). The next day, the two winners of these matches will meet Novak Djokovic (ATP 2) and Rafael Nadal (ATP 1) in the semifinals, who have a walk-through in the first round. The final will then rise in the Emirate on Friday. There is also another match for women between Maria Sharapova (WTA 131) and Australian Ajla Tomljanovic (WTA 51).
