Zverev separated from Apey two years ago and joined Team8 around Tony Godsick and Roger Federer. However, Apey still does not want to accept the termination. /

Apey and Zverev started their collaboration in 2012 when Zverev was 15 years old. The reason: The Zverevs needed money after brother Mischa Zverev's career stalled, as he explained in a family portrait of the Zverevs in the current issue of SPIEGEL .

In the beginning everything went well, the advance payment of 60,000 euros had arrived, Apey also provided Zverev with sponsors and starting places at larger tournaments. But: "When Sascha turned 18, Apey suddenly only wanted to talk to him," recalls father Alexander Zverev.

Sascha himself has also changed, one day declared: "Guess how much money I make a day!" Apey had persuaded him "that he alone makes him rich", he wanted to drive a wedge into the family. This was allegedly not the first time, he once tried to convince another client to pay the parents a severance payment.

Zverev and Apey: how long is the contract?

Apey itself apparently assumes that the contract will continue to run at least until the end of 2023. Zverev's lawyer, on the other hand, invokes an illegality - he could not be that a contract would be concluded with a minor that would bind him for the majority of his career, which was also not clear to the parents at the time of the conclusion.

Apey did not want to speak more specifically to SPIEGEL . He announced that he is now pleased that "the full and true story will be heard in court".
