Andrea Petkovic (WTA 82) usually writes the stories on the tennis court. The 32-year-old from Darmstadt has experienced a lot in her 13-year professional career. This time, however, the six-time WTA tournament winner left out in a completely different field. The German tennis player wrote an essay for Racquet Magazine , entitled “Tennis vs. Tennis ”was about an American indie rock band called“ Tennis ”that had once accompanied the former top ten player on her tour. Hessin wrote down her thoughts during the trip with the rock band and documented her experiences during the tour with Polaroid photos.
The jury of the anthology "Best American Sports Writing" obviously liked the contribution of the current German number four so well that it was included in the 2019 edition.
