At the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, Nick Kyrgios joked about participating in (this year's) French Open, but apparently the Australian should return to the Bois de Boulogne again - in the coming season. The 26-year-old announced this on the sidelines of the ATP 250 tournament in Houston.

"Next year I will go to Paris. I am already announcing it. I will contest the French Open," said Kyrgios in an interview with journalist Blair Henley. The reason for this seems strange: "My girlfriend wants to see Paris. I mean, then I will also play at the French Open."

According to Kyrgios, competing in the second Grand Slam tournament of the year is not an option this season. "We have already decided to fly home and have that time." As an Australian in particular, given the possible homesickness, it is important to spend time at home.

Most recently, Kyrgios served at the Stade Roland Garros in 2017, losing in round two to two-time Grand Slam finalist Kevin Anderson. Then the current world number 94 did. again and again his aversion to the clay court classic .
