Dennis Novak came to an end in the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger in Mouilleron-le-Captif.

Last week Dennis Novak had played his way to the final at the ATP Challenger tournament in Orleans, this time the quarter-finals for the Lower Austrian in Mouilleron-le-Captif were over. Austria's number two had to admit defeat in three sets to Norbert Gombos, a Slovakian seeded eight in western France, in the round of the last eight. After 1:32 hours of play, Novak lost 6: 4, 3: 6, 2: 6.

Gerald Melzer also ended in the quarter-finals in Santiago de Chile. The German-Wagramer caught a smooth 1: 6, -3: 6 defeat against the three seeded Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas. Melzer was also represented in doubles at the clay court challenger in South America, but was eliminated with his partner Julian Lenz in the first round 4-6, 4-6 against Nicolas Barrientos (Colombia) and Fernando Romboli (Brazil).
