ATP Challenger Ismaning: Youngsters Musetti and Alcaraz introduce themselves
With Lorenzo Musetti and Carlos Alcaraz , two of the most promising young talents on the ATP Tour will be playing at the Challenger in Ismaning between October 17 and 25.

Somewhere in Italy there has to be a spring from which the hopeful young tennis players gush out. This has probably been the case in Spain for years, but Tifosi are happy that after Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner the next exceptional Italian talent is ready with Lorenzo Musetti. And in a few weeks Musetti and his Spanish counterpart Carlos Alcaraz can also be seen in Germany - at the ATP Challenger tournament in Ismaning.
Musetto (ATP number 138) has shown an impressive run in the last few weeks. Having started in the qualification, the 18-year-old Italian was only stopped by Davis Cup player Dominik Koepfer in the round of 16 of the Masters tournament in Rome. In the following week, the former No. 1 in the junior world rankings won his first title on the ATP Challenger Tour in Forli. One can also look forward to the appearance of Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 189). The 17-year-old Spaniard is looked after by former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero and was also able to secure his premiere title on the Challenger Tour in Trieste.
Sebastian Korda could also play
The 20-year-old Sebastian Korda (ATP 213) is just outside the main field ranks from the USA. The son of the Australian Open winner Petr Korda won the junior title down under in 2018 and climbed to number 1 in the junior world rankings. At the current French Open, Korda sensationally reached the third round as a qualifier after beating John Isner.
From a German point of view, three starters are fixed in the main field: The contingent is led by Kitzbühel finalist Yannick Hanfmann, Dustin Brown and Yannick Maden will also be there, Maximilian Marterer can hope for a wildcard from the organizer.
The only small drop of sadness: Interested tennis fans can only watch the goings-on of the # NextGen aces via stream. Due to the corona restrictions, no spectators will be allowed on site in Ismaning.
