Otte won 6: 7 (6), 6: 4 and 6: 4 against the Australian Marc Polmans, who was seeded eighth. As a reward, Otte is allowed to open the Center Court in the Lanxess Arena against Jan-Lennard Struff on Monday at 2 p.m. Then Mischa Zverev plays against John Millman. By the way, Polmans came into the main draw as a lucky loser, opened against Hubert Hurkacz.

Austria's number two, Dennis Novak, faces Jordan Thompson in the last match of the day on the largest court on the first day of the tournament.
