Slight disillusionment with the German ATP Cup team in Sydney

Nothing came of the successful start of the German selection at the ATP Cup 2022 in Sydney: Alexander Zverev and Kevin Krawietz lost the decisive double against Jamie Murray and Daniel Evans with 3: 6 and 4: 6.

After the individual it was a draw: Jan-Lennard Struff had no chance in the first game of the day against Daniel Evans at 1: 6 and 2: 6. Then Alexander Zverev equalized with a 7: 6 (2) and 6: 2 against Cameron Norrie. Actually, Tim Pütz instead of Zverev had been advised for the double on the German side, and Joe Salisbury instead of Evans on the British side.

In the lead in Group C after matchday one, the Americans, who were able to prevail 3-0 in the line-up of John Isner and Taylor Fritz. The chances for Germany of advancement are still intact. To do this, however, the match against the USA must be won in the night from Monday to Tuesday (from midnight live on Sky and in Germany on ServusTV). Preferably without a counterpoint.
