Two years after the first participation in the finals, Spain is back in the final of the ATP Cup in 2022. In the first match of the day, Pablo Carreno Busta won against Jan Zielinski 6: 2 and 6: 1. Double specialist Zielinski stood in for Kamil Majchrzak, who had delivered a positive COVID test.

The top individual between Roberto Bautista Agut then turned into a thriller, which the Spaniard won 7: 6 (6), 2: 6 and 7: 6 (5). Hurkacz fended off three match points before "RBA" was allowed to celebrate the victory.

The final is against the winner of the game between defending champion Russia and the team from Canada. A meeting with Medvedev and Co. would have a particular charm: the Russians eliminated Spain early in the Davis Cup final round in Madrid a few weeks ago.
