ATP Cup: Daniil Medvedev makes victory clear for Russia, Canada beats Great Britain

Daniil Medvedev made it 2-0 for Russia against Australia with his victory over Alex de Minaur, in the duel between Canada and Great Britain the doubles had to decide.

It was 6: 4, 6: 2 after 80 minutes of playing time - even if "Meddy" was apparently not quite fit. "I didn't feel that great before the match and threw in a few painkillers," admitted the second in the world rankings .

Shapovalov and FAA claim victory for Canada

In the duel between Canada and Great Britain, the former got the upper hand.

Dan Evans had initially brought his team into the lead with a 6: 4, 6: 4 win over Denis Shapovalov, Felix Auger-Aliassime then equalized with a 7: 6 (4), 6: 3 against Cameron Norrie The team was thus kept in the game throughout the race for group victory in Group C.

In the decisive double, Auger-Aliassime and Shapovalov won 6: 4, 6: 1 against Jamie Murray / Joe Salisbury, making it 2: 1.

Germany and Italy had already celebrated victories that night.
