Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev - undefeated in Melbourne

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev completed eight individual matches in the course of the ATP Cup 2021 - and the two exceptional Russian players won all eight. So also on Sunday in the final against Italy: Rublev presented as usual, defeating Fabio Fognini 6-1 and 6-2.

Afterwards Medvedev gave the previously undefeated Matteo Berrettini no chance at 6: 4 and 6: 2. The final double was waived, with Russia taking over from the premier winner Serbia. Last year, the Russians failed in the semifinals to Novak Djokovic and Co.

Medvedev and Rublev on a collision course

Medvedev, the reigning unofficial ATP world champion, has on the way to the title with Diego Schwartzman , Kei Nishikori, Alexander Zverev and Berrettini cleared the stronger opponents out of the way, but also the victories of Rublev against Guido Pella, Yoshihito Nishioka, Jan- Lennard Struff and Fognini can be seen.

So the best prospects for the Australian Open starting tomorrow. There, however, the draw showed that Medvedev and Rublev could meet in the quarter-finals.
