Alexander Zverev will be coached by his brother Mischa at the ATP Cup

The premiere of the ATP Cup in 2020 was a complete success - just not from a German perspective. The team around top player Alexander Zverev was eliminated in the group with Australia, Canada and Greece in the preliminary round, partly due to the catastrophic performances of the German number one.

Even legend Boris Becker and David Cup captain Michael Kohlmann in the dugout could not help Zverev. The world number seven struggled enormously with his serve and lost all three encounters. In 2021, however, the 23-year-old should achieve his first victory at the ATP Cup, with Alexander Zverev's support from his brother.

Germany probably with Alexander Zverev and Struff

Because Team Germany will be looked after by Mischa Zverev at the ATP Cup. The 33-year-old succeeds Becker and Kohlmann as team captain. Becker is stepping down as head of the German men's team at the end of the year, Kohlmann is not going to travel to Australia due to the corona pandemic.

"That's why we decided that Mischa should take over the role," explained Kohlmann. The ATP Cup will take place in Melbourne from February 1st to 5th, for Germany, Alexander Zverev and Jan-Lennard Struff will most likely contest the singles. More detailed information on the individual teams will be announced in the next few days.
