Rafael Nadal then frowned slightly after losing the first set to Alex de Minaur after losing to David Goffin in the quarter-finals. But then the Spaniard bit into the match, finally winning 4: 6, 7: 5 and 6: 1. Spain will play against Serbia for the first ATP Cup title in Sydney on Sunday. The Serbs had won 3: 0 behind top man Novak Djokovic against Russia.
In the first match of the game against hosts Australia, Roberto Bautista Agut had surprisingly won 6: 1 and 6: 4 against Nick Kyrgios. Bautista Agut will open against Dusan Lajovic on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. (live on ServusTV and in our live ticker). Lajovic had asserted herself against Karen Khachanov in two sets on Saturday.
So far, Nadal has played 54 matches against Djokovic - the Serb leads with 28:26 victories. The last meeting was in Rome in summer 2019. At that time the Spaniard was able to prevail.
