Andreas Mies announced it a few days ago, but out of respect for the double colleagues, he didn't want to be the first to publicly announce the castling in the double circus. Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo had already created facts in this regard on Thursday: The hug after the emotionally high-quality, but insufficient success against Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic with regard to the semifinal qualification at the ATP Finals 2020, was extremely long-lasting. As if this was their last match together.

Now the last few years have shown that you should never say never, but in the near future Kubot and Melo will try each other with other partners. The Brazilian, Alexander Zverev's best friend, is reported to have started a try with Jean-Julien Rojer.

Two major titles for Murray and Soares

Bruno Soares and Mate Pavic will also go their separate ways from January. Soares confirmed this in his press conference after beating John Peers and Michael Venus. His Croatian partner wants to reorient himself, but he already knows who he will be chasing points with from 2021: A revival with Jamie Murray is about to begin.

Bruno Soares won the US Open with Pavic this year, a feat that the Brazilian had already achieved with Murray in 2016. A total of ten joint titles are on the career record with Jamie. Including the victory at the Australian Open 2016.
