ATP Finals 2020: Novak Djokovic starts with a two-set win over Diego Schwartzman

Diego Schwartzman was not really satisfied after the draw with his group, but the Argentine didn't notice anything about it on his ATP Finals debut. Schwatzman took the 2-1 serve from world number one Novak Djokovic and seemed to feel extremely comfortable in the London O2 arena.
But as so often in his career, Djokovic hit back immediately and took the wind out of the sails of his counterpart. Schwartzman kept up well, but the 28-year-old had no real chance from the middle of the first set. The Argentine had to give up his service to make it 3: 5, Djokovic subsequently served safely to make it 6: 3.
Djokovic dominates second set
Round number two continued in the same key: The world number one continued to show extremely solid tennis, broke through Schwartzman's serve in the first game and allowed nothing at all with his own service. With another break to 4-1, the 33-year-old finally set the course for victory.
Just three games later, the same was also brought in: Djokovic fixed the clear 6: 3 and 6: 2 opener success over Diego Schwartzman after a little more than 75 minutes. "I think that the beginning was not so great. But then I managed the rebreak immediately. It was a close match until the break to 5: 3. In the second set I swung a little more freely and then played better," said Djokovic after the game.
With the sixth success in the sixth meeting of the two, Djokovic took the lead in the "Group Tokyo 1970" before the evening match between Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev ( live on the Tennisnet ticker from 9:00 p.m. CET ). The Serb will meet the winner of the night session game on Wednesday, Schwartzman the loser.
