Peter Gojowczyk will play in Pune from Monday

In the first round, Peter Gojowczyk has to run directly against a seeded player. His opponent is the six-placed Australian James Duckworth, who is currently 94th in the world rankings. Gojo (No. 120 in the world) hardly goes into the match as an underdog despite the higher ranking. The Munich player, who fought his way through the qualification at the Australian Open and in the peloton after winning the first round against the top 30 player, will now travel to India with great confidence.

Yannick Maden, who also competed in the first Grand Slam of the year, but unfortunately failed in the second round, meets local hero Prajnesh Gunneswaran in the first round. The second German also has high chances against the Indian. Both players only separate two places in the world rankings, which Gunneswaran (no.123) favors a little over maggots (no.125).

Paire in Pune favorite

The last German, Cedric-Marcel Stebe, has probably got the hardest lot. He has used his protected ranking and has to compete against service giant Ivo Karlovic in the first round. By the way, Karlovic was in the final of Pune last year, but lost it against Kevin Anderson. At that time the tournament was held at the beginning of the year. This date fell victim to the ATP Cup.

In first place is Benoit Paire, who beat Cedric-Marcel Stebe in five sets in the first round of the Australian Open.
