The game of the 17-year-old Spaniard against the experienced Adrian Mannarino took 71 minutes, then Carlos Alcaraz went 6: 4 and 6: 0 as the winner from the Court Manolo Santana in Madrid. This brings about the generational duel, hoped for by many tennis fans, between the clay court legend Rafael Nadal and Alcarez, who was chosen by the grand master himself as a promising candidate for his successor.

A special goodie: The game will be played on Wednesday - and Carlos Alcaraz will be celebrating his 18th birthday there. It will be the first encounter between the two Spaniards, of course Nadal is the big favorite in the match. Nevertheless, the teenager's performance was impressive: mannarino couldn't earn a single breakball.

Jannik Sinner was an interested observer of the match: The Italian, not yet 20 years old, is the potential third-round opponent of Nadal or Alcaraz.
