For Jan-Lennard Struff the matter is of course a very bitter one: As of now, the Warsteiner should clearly be in the main field, but at the time of the cut the German was too badly placed in terms of world rankings. And by exactly one place.

However, there is no sign of misery at Struff: The German started the qualification perfectly and celebrated a clear 7: 5 and 6: 4 win over Luca Nardi on Monday. In the second round, Struff is now waiting for the winner of the duel between Aslan Karatsev and Raul Brancaccio.

Daniel Altmaier is also one lap further. Compatriot Struffs also showed an extremely confident performance and didn't give Attila Balazs from Hungary the slightest chance. Altmaier won his second-round ticket 6-1 and 6-1, in which he now faces Austrian Jurij Rodionov.
