Kevin Krawietz and Fabrice Martin had the chance to reach the final at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami. In the end, however, the German-French pairing had to admit defeat to Austin Krajicek and Nicolas Mahut 7:5, 5:7 and 8:10. The experienced Frenchman and his American partner now face Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the final. Both teams entered the second 1000 tournament of the year unseeded.
Krawietz and Martin had put on a strong run, eliminating the newly crowned champions of Indian Wells in round one with Matthew Ebden and Rohan Bopanna. In the second round there was a success against the Dutchmen Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop. In the quarterfinals Krawietz and Martin finally beat the two local heroes Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul.
