What a performance by Nick Kyrgios : In the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami, the Australian eliminated fifth-placed Andrey Rublev 6: 3 and 6: 0 from the tournament. The Russian was even ahead with a break at the beginning of the first set, but then Kyrgios showed a very strong performance.

Rublev started well, but then he got into the game better and better, said Kyrgios after the match. In particular, the return on the second serve worked excellently, according to the 26-year-old. In round three he meets Fabio Fognini.

Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, had to struggle a lot more than Kyrgios: The Italian fended off three match points against Emil Ruusuvuori and won 6: 4, 3: 6 and 7: 6 (8). He now faces Pablo Carreno Busta, who in turn defeated David Goffin in straight sets.

In addition, Cameron Norrie, who was tenth, qualified for the third round. The 26-year-old beat compatriot Jack Draper 7:6 (5) and 6:4. On Sunday he will measure himself against Hugo Gaston, who surprisingly put John Isner in his place with 7: 6 (5) and 6: 4. Alexander Zverev also won his second round game .
