As in the quarter-finals against Ugo Humbert, Raonic almost made a big comeback: The Canadian managed to take Medvedev's serve for the first time with a score of 5: 6 in the second set. In the tie-break, the Canadian shortened from 0: 4 to 4: 5 - but the last two points in the match belonged to the Russian, who moved into his fourth final at 1000 level. In 2019 Medvedev won in Cincinnati and Shanghai, in Montréal he had to admit defeat to Rafael Nadal.

He could meet him in tomorrow's final. Then namely, when the Spaniard can prevail against Alexander Zverev.
