The tournament favorite is Rafael Nadal , who has not played a match since the successful finale in Roland Garros. Nadal has a bye at the start and then meets either Filip Krajinovic or his compatriot and friend Feliciano Lopez.

In second place is Stefanos Tsitsipas , who recently gave a not quite fit impression in Vienna. Tsitispas is waiting for the winner of the match between Ugo Humbert and Casper Ruud, two youngsters who have already won tournaments this year.

Zverev on course Rublev, then Nadal

Alexander Zverev , number four, was drawn into the upper half of the tableau and opened against either Miomir Kecmanovic or John Millman. Zverev only played against Millman a few days ago in Cologne. In the second round, Grigor Dimitrov could be the first to wait for Zverev, in the quarter-finals Andrey Rublev. As the second German starter, Jan-Lennard Struff will play against Nikoloz Basilashvili in round one.

It could also be interesting for Daniil Medvedev: In round two there might be a reunion with Kevin Anderson. Medvedev only lost to the South African on Friday in Vienna.

Last year Novak Djokovic prevailed against Denis Shapovalov in the Paris-Bercy final. The Canadian has already finished his season and will also be absent from Paris.
